Why It Matters

Tiling is not easy to correct once it has been installed.

While the adhesive is still fresh, a tile can be adjusted or replaced relatively easily. But once the adhesive has cured, it becomes extremely hard. Removing a tile can then require significant time and effort, and there is always a risk of damaging the surrounding tiles, waterproofing, substrate, or other finished work.

Tiling is also one of the final finishes of a building.

Our work is not something that will later be covered or hidden by another trade. The people who live in the home will see it every day. They will walk on it, touch it, clean it, shower on it, and use the space for years.

Because of this, “No one will notice” is never a standard we can work to.

A small issue that we choose to ignore may eventually be noticed. When that happens, it can lead to a complaint, damage the trust that has been built with the client, and require significant time, effort, and cost to correct.
